She's Gott It! General Manager Stephanie Povey was invited to 'Breakfast With The Chancellor' yesterday with Alistair Darling, Chancellor of the Exchequer.

The event, which took place at Prestonfield House in Edinburgh, was organised by the Edinburgh Chamber Of Commerce.

With the general election fast approaching, attendees had the chance to hear what Alasdair Darling’s plan of action would be, to stimulate the economy if his party remains in power after the 6th of May. As UK debt is now at 15% of GDP and climbing, the Chancellor can’t afford to play fast and loose with the economy. Drastic measures are needed to ensure continued recovery from recession, and public sector reform should arguably be at the top of the agenda. 

Stephanie joined other invited attendees at this exclusive business breakfast with the UK Chamber of the Year and had the chance to ask the Chancellor about public sector debt and the Labour Party’s economic policy going forward. It was a fascinating insight into the politics of recovery.
