Edinburgh's Christmas 2011

She’s Gott It! is delighted to be delivering the Edinburgh’s Christmas Festival 2011 – voted the best Christmas Festival in the UK.

The event, which was launched on Thursday 24th November 2011, will run for a 6 week period, closing on Wednesday 4th January 2012.

So far, we have seen:

Light Night (Thursday 24th November 2011) where a giant snow queen was lifted and lit with pyrotechnics, high into the skies of Edinburgh, pipers led a parade to St Andrew Square where there was a finale concert featuring winner’s of Edinburgh’s Got Talent and Britain’s Got Talent contestant ‘Edward Reid’ – to name but a few.

St Andrew’s Day Celebrations (Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th November 2011) where Edinburgh Castle/Princes Street undertook ‘live’ chainsaw ice sculpture carving culminating in a finale show where hundreds of school children were invited to display their handmade St Andrew’s Day lanterns whilst pipers played, scottish themed stories/poems were read from the castle walls ending with 2 fire wall’s lit into the shape of the Scottish Thistle as fireworks lit the skies of Edinburgh.

Santa’s Arrival (Saturday 3rd December) – Princes Street in Edinburgh was lined with thousands of people anticipating the arrival of one of the most famous people in the world ‘Santa’. The naughty elves performed to crowds before Santa and his elf arrived in their ‘live’ reindeer led/pulled sleigh.
