Event
- Nativity Scene - Edinburgh's Christmas 2010
28.11.2010 - 04.01.2011
Description

Edinburgh's much-loved Nativity Scene is once more set within the bustling St Andrew Square. Visitor's can take time to stand within the gardens and think about the meaning of Christmas while contemplating Tim Chalk's thought-provoking sculpture.
This very special work was commissioned in 2003 to challenge the views many people hold of the nativity scene. Its graphic and realistic depiction of the nativity aims to reassess the common views about the scene and the birth of Christ. Representing an image of dispossessed people sheltering in a derelict structure, it is both striking and thought provoking.
Edinburgh's Christmas would like to extend special thanks to Sir Tom and Lady Farmer for the donation of the Nativity Scene.
